Family Discipleship

October 15th - 21st

From Bad to Worse

Watch the Youtube video of this week's lesson.
This weeks big truth is:
Sin was everywhere and in everyone.
This weeks memory verse is:
Just as sin came into the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. Romans 5:12

Here are a few questions for your family to discuss this week based on the teaching your kids received in class on Sunday. Space these questions out throughout the week and find natural times to bring them up. Use these questions to spark conversation over dinner or on a car ride.

Question One: What would be your favorite part about living in the garden of eden?

Question Two: What has changed about the life that Adam and Even had in the garden? What kinds of things are different from when they lived in the garden?

Question Three: We know that Cain made some bad choices. How did those bad choices affect the rest of his life? What about the people around him?

Question Four: How do we know that sin is still around today? How do we see it inside of ourselves? What are some of the consequences from when we sin?

Question Five: What promise did God make to Adam and Eve that is still true for us today? Who will crush sin and Satan under his foot, and rescue us from the curse?

We asked Wally this first question, about what his favorite thing about being in the garden of Eden would be. And he said he would never get kicked out because he wouldn’t eat any apples from the off limits tree, not ever. And if he got hungry, he would just ask God for a piece of bread 😂 I love these suggested questions!

I could live with all the animals and none of them would try to kill me except the snake. And I could eat all the fruit I want except from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
