Family Discipleship March Week 3

This weeks memory verse is: 
 But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the people of Israel, who saved them. (Judges 3:9)

Here are a few questions for your family to discuss this week based on the teaching your kids received in class on Sunday. Space these questions out throughout the week and find natural times to bring them up. Use these questions to spark conversation over dinner or on a car ride.

Question One: Have you ever been really afraid? What were you afraid of? What do you do when you are really afraid?

Question Two: Why were the Israelites afraid of the Midianites? Who did Israel turn to for help? Did that person help?

Question Three: What was Judge Gideon doing when God asked him to lead his army? What did God have Gideon do before the battle?

Question Four: What were some of the fears that Gideon had?

Question Five: What is wrong with "everyone doing what is right in their own eyes"? Instead of making ourselves the king, who is the king we should follow and why?
